What We Treat

What we look at

A first consultation

We begin by looking — pulse, posture, movement, and the pattern of your daily life. From that we decide the direction of care together. A first visit takes longer than a follow-up.

Facial acupuncture

Facial asymmetry, puffiness and tension are assessed together with the neck and shoulders, then worked with using fine needles and manual technique.

Herbal medicine

Formulas are decided from your constitution, your current state and how you live — not from the symptom alone. They are adjusted as that state changes.

Pain, posture and movement

Neck, shoulder and lower back pain, long-standing musculoskeletal complaints, and limits in posture and movement are assessed.

Sleep, stress and recovery

Difficulty sleeping, tension, headaches, fatigue and the physical signs that come with them are examined alongside circulation and fluid balance.

Dr. Woo Jooyon · Pharmacist · Doctor of Korean Medicine

Dr. Woo Jooyon is licensed both as a pharmacist and as a doctor of Korean medicine, and has studied the two fields alongside each other. In practice she works with acupuncture and herbal medicine, and has continued training in manual approaches to the body's structure and movement — cranial, visceral and lymphatic. Since 2015 she has practised by reading the body's signals as a whole and setting an order of recovery, rather than isolating a symptom as a single problem.

The Woo Joo Yon Method

Recovery has an order.

Rather than chasing a single symptom in isolation, we read the body's signals as a whole and design the order in which recovery happens. It runs in four stages — clearing, circulation, building, and ordering.

  1. Clearing

    It begins by making room.

Digestion, elimination, metabolism, eating habits and sleep — the loads that stand in the way of recovery are examined first.

  2. Circulation

What has stalled is connected again.

Blood flow, lymph, breathing, fascia, joints — how fluid and movement carry through the body.

  3. Building

The capacity to recover is grown.

Herbal medicine, nutrition, movement, sleep and daily habits are adjusted to your constitution and current state.

  4. Ordering

Recovery is carried into everyday order.

Posture, movement, sleep, meals, breathing — and the rhythm of the days that hold them.

Woojooyon Clinic

Symptoms, constitution and current state are read together to set the direction of care. A body check-up establishes where you are, and acupuncture and individually prescribed herbal medicine follow the treatment plan.
